Authorities Announce Investigation into Fatal Pedestrian Strike

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Parsippany – Troy Hills Police Chief Richard Pantina announce an investigation is underway into the pedestrian death of a juvenile in Parsippany.

At approximately 5:34 p.m. on July 9, 2024, a 2022 Mazda CX5 traveling in the area of 189 Littleton Road in Parsippany struck an eight-year-old boy. Paramedics from Denville Saint Clare’s and Par-Troy EMS responded. The boy was declared deceased at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

At this time, it is believed the victim was riding a bicycle when he was struck.

The incident remains under active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department are participating in this investigation.
