1. On June 24th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau were assisting property owners with clearing their vacant properties after we received numerous reports of trespassing. While clearing a home on Jackson Street, Detectives located and arrested 61-year-old Joaquin Rangel of Union City, NJ, for burglary [2C:18-2], criminal mischief [2C:17-3], theft [2C:20-3], and hindering his own apprehension [2C:29-3], after he provided Detectives with a fake name. Mr. Rangel was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Rangel was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.

2. On June 25th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of John F. Kennedy Boulevard East and 69th Street, after receiving a report of a criminal mischief to a parked motor vehicle. During their on-scene investigation, officers located a vehicle which had been spray painted all over. Additionally, officers located and arrested 29-year-old Robert Gonzalez of Woodbridge, VA, after he admitted to and was observed spray painting the vehicle on our Town surveillance cameras. Mr. Gonzalez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing, where he was charged with three (3) counts of criminal mischief [2C:17-3] and disorderly conduct [2C:33-2A(2)]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Gonzalez was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.

3. On June 30th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, Detectives and Officers arrested 26-year-old Alyssa Calichs of North Bergen, NJ, after discovering that she had an active warrant issued by the Franklin Borough Municipal Court. Ms. Calichs was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Calichs was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released on her own recognizance, pending her next court appearance with the Franklin Borough Municipal Court.

4. On June 30th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, Detectives arrested 22-year-old Wilder Z. Estrada-Estrada of Englewood, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Estrada-Estrada was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Estrada-Estrada was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released to a responsible adult.


The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
