On February 8, 2024 at 4:22 A.M., the Secaucus Police Department responded to the Meadowlands Plaza Hotel, 40 Wood Avenue, on report of an armed robbery.
The suspects, identifed as Cristopher Molina Herrera, 30, and Rikelvin DeLeon Diaz, 33, both of Newark, allegedly forced their way into the victims’ hotel room, while stating that they were police officers. The victim alleges that one of the males pulled out a handgun and threatened to “pistol whip” one of the victims. Cristopher Molina Herrera and Rikelvin DeLeon Diaz fled the area with some of the victims’ money and personal belongings.
After a five-months long investigation, members of the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division and Anti-Crime Unit arrested Cristopher Molina Herrera at his place of employment in Clifton, NJ on June 27, 2024, without incident. On June 28, 2024 members of the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division and Anti-Crime Unit arrested Rikelvin DeLeon Diaz at his place of employment in Elizabeth, NJ, without incident.

Cristopher Molina Herrera and Rikelvin DeLeon Diaz were both charged with Robbery [2C:15-1a(1)] and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery [2C:5-2/2C:15-1a(1)]. They lodged in the Hudson County Jail.
