Guttenberg Police Blotter

1. On June 1st, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 70th Street and Park Avenue after receiving a report of someone screaming for police inside of an establishment. Upon entry into the establishment, officers met with employees of the establishment and a male who was yelling at them. During their on-scene investigation, officers attempted to order the male to leave the establishment at the request of the employees. After numerous attempts, the male continued to refuse. At that point, he was informed he would be placed under arrest, after which he began to fight and resist the officers attempts to place him in handcuffs. After a brief scuffle with the male, officers successfully arrested 38-year-old Lyubomyr Masliy of Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Masliy was then transported to the Palisades Medical Center for treatment. Later, Mr. Masliy was transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. At the Guttenberg Police Department, as a result of the investigation, Mr. Masliy was charged with burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], criminal trespass [2C:18-3A], defiant trespass [2C:18-3B(1)], resisting arrest [2C:29-2A(3)(B)], four(4) counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer [2C:12-1B(5)(A)], obstructing the administration of law [2C:29-1A], criminal mischief [2C:17-3A(2)], and disorderly conduct [2C:33-2A(1)]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Masliy was issued his complaint warrant and lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.
