1. On May 20th, 2024, the Guttenberg Police Department was contacted by the Newark Police Department, informing our agency that they had a male in their custody with an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the Newark Police Department, where they arrested 28-year-old Kevin M. Mokaya of Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Mokaya was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Mokaya was lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.

2. On May 21st, 2024, the Guttenberg Police Department was contacted by the Ridgefield Police Department, informing our agency that they had a male in their custody with an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the Ridgefield Police Department, where they arrested 31-year-old Ezequiel M. Carja-Cobo of North Bergen, NJ. Mr. Carja-Cobo was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Carja-Cobo was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.

3. On May 26th, 2024, while on patrol, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division observed a large group of individuals congregating and causing a disturbance in front of 6714 Bergenline Avenue (La Perla Del Sur). While observing the group, officers observed a male initiate a verbal dispute with some other members of the crowd. Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, however, the male initiating the dispute refused to cooperate and continued to scream at other pedestrians, while taking an aggressive fighting posture. After the male refused to cooperate with our officers and continued this behavior, officers arrested 38-year-old Jaime O. Guallpa of North Bergen, NJ, for disorderly conduct [2C:33-2A]. Mr. Guallpa was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Guallpa was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.


The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
