Shooting Near East 30th Street and 18th Avenue in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 1:50 a.m. on May 25, 2024, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of East 30th Street and 18th Avenue on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Paterson Police were notified that a 35-year-old male victim from Paterson, New Jersey, and a 25-year-old male victim from Saint Albans, New York arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, via private vehicle, for treatment of non-fatal gunshot wounds. Shortly thereafter, a third victim, a 31-year-old male from New York also arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. Members of the Paterson Police Department were able to locate a potential crime scene in the area.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
