On May 12, 2024 at 8:49 P.M., the Secaucus Police Department responded to Harmon Cove Towers, on a report of an unresponsive male, who was not breathing. Upon arrival, Police Officer Michael Borrelli immediately began Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
While performing CPR, Police Officer Austin C. Hawxhurst readied his Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and one “shock” was delivered to the victim. Police Officers Borrelli and Hawxhurst continued CPR until the arrival Hudson Regional Hospital EMT’s. After delivering a second “shock” to the victim, Secaucus Police Officers and Hudson Regional Hospital EMT’s continued CPR, a pulse was found and he ultimately regained consciousness.
The victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center by Hudson Regional Hospital EMT’s and Jersey City Medical Center Paramedics. At the time of this press release, the victim remains in stable condition in the hospital.
