Arrest Made in Hoboken Fatal Shooting

A North Bergen man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Hoboken on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Albert Morales, 33, is charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1), and Unlawful Possession of Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1). He was arrested in Chicopee, Massachusetts on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, by members of the Massachusetts State Police and will remain in custody pending extradition to New Jersey.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2024, the Hoboken Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area of 320 Marshall Drive. Responding officers located a crime scene outside the building. A 21-year-old male, later identified as Damon Murray, of Hoboken, was transported by a private auto to Jersey City Medical Center with an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was pronounced dead just after 12 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
