Man Charged with Possessing Child Sex Abuse Material

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested a North Bergen man following a child sex abuse material investigation.

Nicholas Sanchez, 25, is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child/Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(b)(iii). He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

On December 15, 2023, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip that child sex abuse material was being stored on an online server. During the course of the investigation, it was determined Sanchez controlled the account.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Special Victims Unit, Cyber Crimes Unit, Narcotics Task Force, and North Bergen Police Department with the investigation and arrest. The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
