Pedestrian Struck and Killed By Motor Vehicle In the City of Passaic

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Department Chief Luis A. Guzman announce that on April 10, 2024, at approximately 11:13 p.m., the Passaic Police Department responded to the intersection of Passaic Ave and Aycrigg Ave on a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The pedestrian, Rachel McNeil, a 58-year-old female from Passaic, NJ, was subsequently transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where she was admitted in critical but stable condition. Subsequently, Ms. McNeil succumbed to her injuries and passed away at approximately 12:07 p.m on April 12, 2024. The vehicle that struck the victim fled the area in an unknown direction.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
