Man Charged with Selling Firearms to Undercover Officer

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on multiple firearms offenses following an investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Emerson Deline, of Jersey City, is charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1), crimes of the second degree, and two counts of Unlawful Disposition of a Firearm in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-9d, crimes of the fourth degree. He was arrested on Thursday, March 28, 2024, on Grand Street in Jersey City by members of the Narcotics Task Force. A Judge of the Superior Court granted the State’s Motion for Detention on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

During the investigation, Deline sold a handgun to an undercover police officer on January 4, 2024 and again on January 12, 2024.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
