Secaucus Police Blotter 03/18/2024 to 03/24/2024

On 03/18/2024 at 10:53 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the Monmouth County Jail to take into custody a 52-year-old male, Troy Huff of Brooklyn, NY for 2 outstanding warrants issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $5,000.00. Huff was unable to post bail for the involved warrants and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 03/20/2024 at 1:30 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Jersey City, NJ to take into custody a 48-year-old male, Adrian Hicken of Brooklyn, NY in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred at Kohl’s on 06/20/2023. Following this shoplifting incident, Mr. Hicken also eluded police while operating his motor vehicle. Hicken was charged with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Eluding [2C:29-2B] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(2)]. Mr. Hicken was also found to have 2 outstanding warrants issued out of Hawthorne, NJ in the amount of $5,596.00. Mr. Hicken was issued his complaint warrant for the charges issued by the Secaucus Police and he was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 03/20/2024 at 10:26 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the Secaucus Community Center located at 145 Front Street on a report of an incident of Bias Harassment. During the investigation, on the same date at 2:19 PM, the police arrested a 64-year-old male, Gary McSweeney of Secaucus, NJ for Bias Intimidation [2C:16-1A(3)(A)] and Harassment [2C:33-4A]. McSweeney was taken into custody at Secaucus Police Headquarters located at 1203 Paterson Plank Road. Mr. McSweeney was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 03/20/2024 at 3:23 PM, Secaucus Police responded to a parking issue in the area of Secaucus Road and Henry Street. During the investigation, the police arrested a 36-year-old male, Michael Wilenta of Wyckoff, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Hawthorne, NJ in the amount of $750.00. Wilenta was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.

On 03/22/2024 at 6:12 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 30-year-old male, Clayton Scott of East Orange, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Possession of an Antishoplifting Device [2C:20-11F], Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-3E], specifically a metal knuckle, Unlawful Use of a Credit Card [2C:21-6C(1)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. The police also arrested a 28-year-old male, Shane Smith of Brooklyn, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Smith was also found to have 2 outstanding warrants issued out of Paramus, NJ in the amount of $500.00 for each warrant. Paramus did release Mr. Smith on his own recognizance in relation to both outstanding warrants, pending future court dates. Both Mr. Scott and Mr. Smith were issued their complaint warrants and were subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.
