One Dead and One Injured Following a Shooting in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that on March 12, 2024, at approximately 11:53 p.m., officers from the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Watson Street and North Bridge Street in response to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located two victims who were both transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. The first victim, a 43-year-old male from Paterson, sustained gunshot wounds to the neck and legs, and subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The second victim, a 38- year-old male from Paterson, also sustained gunshot wounds to the neck and legs. He has been admitted and is in stable condition.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
