News Update from the Mayor

Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
PSE&G began work this week replacing old gas lines around the Stillman School area of town. The details and streets affected are posted on the Borough website. The Police Department will manage traffic detours to make road closures as convenient as possible.
This Saturday, March 9, you are invited to visit and support the Tenafly Girl Scouts from 11 am to 3 pm outside Ave Lumi Boutique at 9 Jay Street. The Girl Scouts will be selling Girl Scout Cookies to help support their wonderful activities and community involvement.
This Saturday at the Nature Center families and children are invited to a book reading of Spike the Spunky Hedgehog. This heartwarming tale encourages young readers to believe in themselves and never let obstacles hold them back.
Also, on Saturday and Sunday at the Nature Center, families with children 4 and up can participate in a nature scavenger hunt. On Sunday, everyone is welcome for one of the last two maple sugaring program weekends. Register at tenaflynaturecenter.org

This Tuesday, March 12 at 11 AM, join the Library Friends for their monthly Morning Matinee. They will be screening the Oscar-winning film Past Lives in the Library Friends Room. All are welcome and no registration is necessary.
The JCC Community Theatre Presents: The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Set in Atlanta, in December 1939 centered around Ballyhoo, the social event of the season, and the Freitag family with plenty of comedy, romance, and revelations along the way. Save the date! May 4 is the Tenafly Spring Fling. This exciting community event will host 60 plus vendors featuring plants, flowers, jewelry, clothing, candles, flowers, artwork and more. Plenty to eat with food trucks offering fabulous menus. Face painting, live music, a carousel and art activities. It will be a fun day for the entire community.
