Livingston Resident Arrested for Shoplifting at Target

Fairfield (NJ) – The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Allison Haber (19), of Livingston, New Jersey for shoplifting at Target on February 25, 2024. On that date at approximately 8:52 pm, officers were dispatched to Target on a report of a shoplifter that was in custody.

Upon arrival, officers located Haber being detained by Target security. It is alleged that security observed her in the make-up aisle placing items into her purse. She is then allegedly bypassed all points of sale towards the exit where she was stopped and detained. The total amount shoplifted was $409.94.

Haber was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. She was charged with shoplifting and later released pending a May 1, 2024 appearance at the Essex County Courthouse.

“The amount of shoplifting arrests being made at Target recently is overwhelming. We praise security for their diligence to apprehend these individuals,” said Public Information Officer Stacy Chiarolanza.

“It’s hard to understand in the age of technology, that people think they won’t get caught. In the long run is it really worth taking that chance? These charges lead to expensive legal issues that could have been avoided andcould adversely affect someone for many years to come,”said Chiarolanza.

(Charges are merely allegations until the defendant is proven guilty or pleads guilty in a court of law).
