Case update February 5, 2024

On January 18, 2024 Millburn Police located a suspect vehicle, that was involved in a theft that occurred in Livingston NJ, parked at the Short Hills mall. The investigation led to the arrest of Ranard Webber, age 49, of Rahway, for the theft out of Livingston. The arrest revealed multiple credit cards belonging to different victims and multiple key fobs to different vehicles. He was charged with possessing stolen credit cards, forgery, and possession of burglary tools. He was released to Livingston Police on their warrant.

On January 22, 2024 Millburn Police Officer Palmer stopped a 2007 Hyundai Tucson on rt 124 and Broad St, for motor vehicle violations. The driver was unable to provide a driver’s license. She provided the Officer with fake pedigree information. The investigation led to the arrest of Georgette Calleja, age 40, of Newton NJ. She had an active arrest warrant out of Byram NJ. She was charged with motor vehicle violations and Hindering apprehension.

On January 23, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Michael Dundon responded to Macys in Short Hills on a report of theft that just occurred. Macy’s associates reported that Louis Aguilar-Viera, age 23, of Queens NY, concealed $543.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On January 27, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Tucker responded to Macy’s at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of theft. Macy’s associates reported that Christian Doicela, age 19, and Maicol Aconda age 20, both of Newark NJ, concealed $340.00 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying. The suspects were placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On January 30, 2024 Millburn Police Officers responded to the Short Hills mall on a report of multiple vehicles that were burglarized. The vehicles had their windows broken and Multiple items were stolen. Detective Herrera was able to identify a suspect vehicle. A short time later Union PD arrested the two occupants of the vehicle. Detective Herrera was able to identify one of the actors that burglarized multiple vehicles at the mall. Devon Reid, age 30, of Newark was charged with 5 counts of burglary and criminal mischief, three counts of theft and one count of credit card fraud.

On January 31, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Matos responded to Neiman Marcus at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of theft. Neiman Marcus associates reported that Dameon Mosely, age 29, of Irvington, concealed $275.00 of merchandise and left the store without paying. He was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

On January 31, Millburn Police Officer Matos stopped a Jeep Grand Cherokee on JFK Parkway south for a motor vehicle violation. A check of the vehicle registration revealed that the registration was suspended. The driver refused to provide the officer with his driver’s license and registration. The investigation led to the arrest of Deshawn Wiggins, age 46, of Newark. He was charged with obstruction, resisting arrest, and multiple motor vehicle violations.

On February 1, 2024 Millburn Police Officer Genitempo responded to a West Beechcroft road residence on a report of a burglary to the residence. The resident reported that he heard his dog barking, and then heard his garage door open. The investigation revealed that two actors entered the residence through a window. The actors fled after being met by the barking dog. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On February 2, 2024 Millburn Officer Nakashian observed a broken window to the front of the store, U Break I Fix, at 304 Millburn Ave. The investigation revealed that two actors attempted to force entry into the store by breaking the front window. The actors were unsuccessful and fled the scene in a vehicle.

Om February 2, 2024 Millburn Officers responded to Macys at the Short Hills Mall on a report of a theft that just occurred. Macy’s associate reported that there were 5 suspects that concealed $1,184.25 worth of merchandise and left the store. Millburn Officers were able to locate and identify the suspects. The following suspects were arrested and charged with shoplifting and conspiracy, Stefania Castillo-Topa age 20, Steven Joel Chato age 20, Evelyn Gueblachato, age 24, Byran Panchi-Chasi, age 23, and one juvenile, which all were from Newark.

On February 3, 2024, Millburn Police Officer Genitempo and Kerwien responded to a Byron Road residence on a report of a burglary to the residence. The investigation revealed that someone had forced entry into the residence. The suspects were possibly on foot in the area. Millburn police located the burglary suspect on Addison drive. Jhan Rodriguez-Fonseca, age 26, of Jersey City was placed under arrest. He was charged with burglary, conspiracy, obstruction, criminal mischief and theft. He was remanded to the Essex County correctional facility. During this investigation Millburn Officer Bifano stopped a black KIA for motor vehicle violations, the drive Marlon David Torres, age 19, Bronx NY, had an active warrant out of NYC, for possession of stolen property. He was placed under arrest.


These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
