Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge
Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 7:56 p.m. on January 22, 2024, members of the
Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Hamilton Avenue and Godwin Avenue
in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members of the Paterson Police
Department were informed the victim, a 16-year-old juvenile was transported to St. Joseph’s
University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, via private vehicle, seeking treatment for a
non-fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes
available.
