Pedestrian Struck and Killed By Motor Vehicle In Pompton Lakes NJ

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Pompton Lakes Police Department Chief Derek Clark announce that on January 18, 2024, at approximately 7:58 p.m., the Pompton Lakes Police Department responded to the area of Ringwood Avenue near Carr Street on a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The pedestrian, Daniel Schneider, a 69-year-old male from Bloomingdale, NJ, was subsequently transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
