News Update from the Mayor
January 12, 2024

Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

In honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, January 15th, Borough Hall, the DPW and the Recycling Center will be closed. Monday trash pickup will take place as normally scheduled.

PSEG is going to be upgrading gas lines in some of our streets and installing new gas meters on select homes in the coming months. This work will occur primarily in the neighborhoods located in the Stillman School District area. PSEG will communicate directly with homeowners affected by the work. As soon as we have more schedule details, we will share that information with everyone.

Thinking about an activity for Monday, January 15? Since Martin Luther King, Jr., day is a National Day of Service, the Nature Center is holding a special Forest Defenders session between 10 am to 1 pm. Spend part of your day helping to remove a variety of non-native plants that have been encroaching into our forest causing harm to native plants and reducing our biodiversity. The Senior Center is Broadway bound. The Center has scheduled two upcoming Broadway shows. Doubt and The Play That Goes Wrong. Call the Center for details. Traveling with the Senior Center is the easiest way to see a Broadway show!

Kindergarten registration, winter concerts, MLK Day history and more! Check out the latest Tenafly Public Schools district newsletter issue.

Stand Up for the Arts at the JCC on Saturday, February 10th at 7 pm. This fun evening of laughter isn’t just entertainment; it’s a healing force. For tickets visit: Event and Ticket Information (onecause.com)
