Shooting In the Area of Park Avenue and East 22nd St.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Acting Paterson Police Chief Bert Ribeiro announce that at approximately 4:57 p.m. on January 8, 2023, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Park Avenue and East 22nd Street on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene, but no victim was located. Shortly thereafter, members of the Paterson Police Department were notified that a 35-year-old male Paterson, New Jersey resident had arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey seeking treatment for multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
