Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Acting Paterson Police Chief Bert Ribeiro
announce that at approximately 2:20 a.m. on January 21, 2023, members of the Paterson Police
Department responded to the area of North Bridge Street and Watson Street in Paterson, New
Jersey on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members of the Paterson Police Department
located a potential crime scene and a 33-year-old male Paterson, New Jersey resident suffering
from a non-fatal gunshot wound to the head. The victim was immediately transported to St.
Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment and is currently in
critical condition.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
