Shooting in the Area of 10th Avenue and East 23rd Street in Paterson NJ

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Acting Paterson Police Chief Bert Ribeiro announce that at approximately 1:36 p.m. on February 14, 2023, members of the Paterson Police Department heard shots being fired while patrolling the area of 10th Avenue and East 23rd Street in Paterson, New Jersey. Upon arrival members of the Paterson Police Department located a 15- year-old juvenile and 62-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment. The 62-year-old male Paterson resident is currently in critical condition.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
