Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces that at approximately 5:26 p.m. on
March 26, 2023, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of
Hamilton Avenue and Carroll Street on report of shots fired. Upon arrival, members of the
Paterson Police Department located a potential crime scene but were unable to locate any
victims. A short while later, a juvenile arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in
Paterson, New Jersey seeking treatment for a nonfatal gunshot wound.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
