Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces that at approximately 10:42 p.m. on
April 7, 2023, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of East
23rd Street and 4th Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival,
members of the Paterson Police Department located a 30-year-old male Paterson resident male
suffering from non-fatal gunshot wounds. Aid was immediately rendered by responding officers
and the individual was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New
Jersey for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
