Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Department Chief Luis A.
Guzman announce that at approximately 4:10 p.m. on May 1, 2023, members of the Passaic Police
Department responded to the area of State Street and Aspen Place on reports of shots fired. Upon
arrival, police located a potential crime scene, but no victim was located. A short time later
members of the Passaic Police Department were advised that a twenty-one-year-old male Passaic
resident arrived at Saint Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey seeking treatment for
non-fatal gunshot wounds.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes
available.
