Shooting In the Area of Presdential Blvd and Temple Street

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Major Frederick P. Fife announces that at approximately 1:21 a.m. on April 24, 2023, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to University Medical center in Newark, New Jersey upon a report of a male sustaining a non-fatal gunshot wound in Paterson, New Jersey. Upon arrival, members of the Paterson Police Department made contact with a 26 year-old male Paterson, New Jersey resident who stated he sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound in the area of Presidential Boulevard and Temple Street in the City of Paterson at roughly 11:45 p.m. on April 23rd.

Detectives investigating the matter have since determined that the victim was not wounded in the City of Paterson, but rather sustained his injury in a location outside the City of Paterson. The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
