Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 10:46 p.m. on June 14, 2023, Paterson Police
responded St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey on report of a 37
year-old male Garfield, New Jersey resident seeking treatment for a non- fatal gunshot wound. A
preliminary investigation determined that the shooting occurred in the area of a 4th Avenue and
East 12th Street in the City of Paterson.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it
becomes available.
