Shooting in Paterson NJ

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 11:40 p.m. on July 16, 2023, Paterson Police were advised that a 27-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey via private vehicle seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. Based on the initial investigation, the shooting occurred in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Pearl Street in Paterson. A potential crime scene was located in that area.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
