Shooting in the Area of Union Ave and Jasper Street in Paterson NJ

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 2:40 a.m. on September 3, 2023, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Union Avenue and Jasper Street on a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, police located a 28-year-old male Elmwood Park resident and were informed of a second victim a 33-year-old male Paterson resident suffering non-fatal gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Police also located a potential crime scene in the area. Police were further advised that a 29-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey via private vehicle seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
