Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge
Isa Abbassi announce that at approximately 2:23 a.m. on September 17, 2023, members of the
Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Market Street and Pennington Street in
Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival members of the Paterson Police
Department located a 34-year-old male Secaucus, New Jersey resident who sustained a non-fatal
gunshot wound and was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New
Jersey. Police were able to locate a potential crime scene in the area.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes
available.
