On December 7, 2023, at approximately 6:05 p.m., Police Officers Shelby Seickendick and
Anthony Olivera responded to the intersection of Park Avenue and Ninth Street for multiple
reports of a man, later identified as 49-year-old Chuey Quintana of Hoboken, throwing trash at
people and vehicles passing by. Quintana, who had left the area by the time officers arrived, was
observed by Sgt. Dennis Figueroa Jr. near the intersection of Seventh and Grand Streets taking
garbage from a nearby can and throwing it at a car driving by. Quintana was arrested for
disorderly conduct and transported to police headquarters. He was given a summons and released
from police custody.
On December 7, 2023, at approximately 7:35 p.m., Police Officers Joseph Spano and Daniel
Grossi responded to the Hoboken Shelter, 300 Bloomfield St., on reports of a woman causing a
disturbance inside. Upon their arrival, the officers observed the woman, later identified as 28-
year-old Crystal Bent of Hoboken, acting erratically outside the shelter and getting into the faces
of others standing nearby. They could smell alcoholic beverages emanating from her breath. She
was told to leave the area multiple times, but refused and began shouting obscenities directly in
the faces of the officers and attempted to get back into the shelter. She was told she would be
arrested if she continued her aggressive behavior. Bent continued to shout obscenities and pulled
the door of the shelter to try and go back inside. When Bent was told she was being placed under
arrest, she interlocked her arms to resist. Sgt. Dennis Figueroa and Police Officer Ramon Estrella
arrived on the scene. She was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and released
on the scene with a summons.
On December 7, 2023, at approximately 9 a.m., Police Officers Jessica Pizanie and Jesse
Castellano responded to the intersection of Second and Hudson Streets on reports of a person
sleeping in a vestibule. Upon arrival, officers located 46-year-old Stacy Butler, who they knew to
be experiencing homelessness. Right next to her, they observed two cylindrical glass pipes with
blackened tips and residue commonly used to inhale CDS and two push rods. Officers woke
Butler up and brought her to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she was charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Hudson County Correctional
Facility.
On December 8, 2023, at approximately 10:05 a.m., Police Officers Roberto Cuevas and Jesse
Castellano responded to Super Food Store, 301 Jackson St., on reports of a man threatening to
kill an employee. Sgt. Roary Miller was also on scene and identified the actor as 43-year-old
Rushdee Parmalee of Jersey City. It was learned Parmalee refused to pay for coffee, and when
the employee told him to pay, he threatened to kill him. Parmalee was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters and charged with robbery and making terroristic threats. He was transported
to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
On December 8, 2023, at approximately 4 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Rutkowski and Aaron
Font responded to the 500 block of Marshall Drive. They located a male trespasser, later
identified as 23-year-old Andre Alzate-Llano of Union City, who provided a false name at first.
He was placed under arrest for trespassing. A search incident to arrest found a glass cylindrical
tube and a small metal rod containing a substance believed to be CDS. Alzate-Llano was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was additionally charged with possession
of drug paraphernalia. He was processed on all charges and released with a summons.
On December 8, 2023, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Police Officers Daniel Grossi and Daniel
Barron responded to the 400 block of Washington St. on reports of a non-domicile female
sleeping in a hallway. Upon arrival they located a woman, later identified as 53-year-old Bonnie
Brickman of Hoboken, and advised her to move her property away from the residential building.
It was discovered that Brickman had an active warrant against her from Woodlynne Borough,
NJ. She was issued a new court date and released on the scene.
On December 10, 2023, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Police Officers Aaron Font, Matthew
Bonanno, and Marvin Dejesus responded to the 200 block of Washington Street on reports of
eight males involved in a dispute and punching car windows. Sgt. James Barbro, Sgt. Luke
Zeszotarski, and Police Officers Shawn Sodora and Remy Garcia-Marte arrived on the scene. It
was learned that a group of men were leaning up against a vehicle parked nearby. The owner of
that car asked them to move away from the vehicle, after which the other men became aggressive
toward the owner and his friends, assaulting at least two of them, causing injuries. They also hit
the car, causing damage to the driver's side mirror. One of the victims identified 23-year-old
Giovanni Read of Jersy City as his attacker, Read was placed under arrest and charged with
criminal mischief. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and later released with a
court date.
On December 10, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m., Police Officers Jennifer Lee, Dylan Allegretta,
and Anthony Hochstadter were approached near the intersection of Willow Avenue and Fourth
Street by a man who told them a woman was calling for help near Park Avenue and Fourth
Street. Upon arrival to that area, the officers were told by the woman that a man, later identified
as 36-year-old Israel Martinez of Hoboken, was pushing and grabbing her. Police Officers
Arturo Gonzalez and Mark Mooreman were also on the scene. It was discovered Martinez had
two open warrants from Jersey City for traffic violations including driving without a license. He
was given another court date and released on the scene.
On December 11, 2023, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Sgt. Steve Kranz and Police Officers
Bianca Arroyo and Arturo Gonzalez responded to Dollar Valley Store, 301 Jackson St., on
reports of an assault and shoplifting. The on-site investigation revealed a man put a container of
Pringles, valued at $1.50, in his pocket and attempted to leave. When a store employee tried to
stop him, the man yelled obscenities, struggled with the employee and another customer, and bit
the employee before running out of the store. Detective John Quinones was able to identify the
actor as 42-year-old Phillip Steed of Hoboken. Steed was charged with robbery. The next day,
December 12, 2023, at approximately 8:45 a.m., Sgt. Wilfredo Gomez observed Steed walking
on the 200 block of Jackson Street. Police Officers Arturo Gonzalez and Geovanni Cruzado
placed Steed under arrest and transported him to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was charged
with robbery, processed, and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
On December 11, 2023, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Police Officers Jennifer Lee and Damien
Bates responded to the 400 block of Ninth Street on reports of a man working on a minivan and
setting off the car alarm. It was learned the driver of the minivan, identified as 29-year-old
Kimberly Granados of Hoboken, had an active warrant out of Keyport. She was released at the
scene with a new court date.
On December 9, 2023, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Police Officers Chelsea Tamborra and Mark
Mooreman responded to CVS, 811 Clinton St., on reports of a shoplifting called in by Police
Officer Joseph DiMartino, who was off duty at the time and had witnessed a man place hygiene
item into a bag and attempt to leave without paying. Officer DiMartino identified himself as a
police officer and tried to stop the actor from leaving the store, but after a struggle, he was able
to flee on an electric scooter. Officers were able to identify the suspect as 37-year-old Christpher
Rosado of Jersey City, and he was charged with robbery, aggravated assault on a law
enforcement officer, and resisting arrest. On December 12, 2023, at approximately 11:35 p.m.,
Police Officers Harold Milne and Anthony Azzoline observed Rosado on the 300 block of
Jackson Street operating an electric scooter against the flow of traffic. When they approached
him and made their presence known, Rosado attempted to flee. The officers quickly caught up to
him on foot, but Rosado resisted arrest by placing his hands under his chest and locking them
together. Lt. Donald Rosso, Sgt. Dennis Figueroa, Sgt. Frances McCourt, and Police Officers
Mark Mooreman, Shelby Seickendick, Nick Valerius, Ricky Truppner, Jason Montalvo, Harry
Montalvo, and Anthony Hochstadter arrived on scene to assist. During an attempt to place
Rosado in custody, he caused damage to a pair of handcuffs which swung open, and a piece of
metal scraping flew into one of the officers' eyes. The officer was checked by Hoboken EMS and
Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was not seriously injured. Rosado was further charged with
another count of resisting arrest. He was processed on all charges and transported to the Hudson
County Correctional Facility.
On December 13, 2023, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and
Michael Straten responded to Hoboken University Medical Center, 301 Willow Ave., on reports
of a man who pulled the fire alarm after becoming disorderly and was asked to leave the
building. The Hoboken Fire Department also responded to reset the fire alarm. Officers were
given a description of the actor, who they were able to identify as 33-year-old Rodney Hamilton
of Hoboken. A short time later, Hamilton returned to HUMC. Sgt. Luke Zeszotarski, and Police
Officers Arturo Bonilla and Marc Lombardi responded and placed Hamilton under arrest. He
was arrested for creating a false public alarm and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters,
processed, and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
On December 13, 2023, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Police Officer Christopher Barral was on
patrol near Marine View Plaza when his vehicle's automatic license plate reader alerted him that
he had driven past a vehicle that had been reported stolen. The vehicle was parked but occupied
by a man later identified as 25-year-old MD Hossain of Brooklyn. Sgt. Adam Colon and Police
Officers Brandon Fitzgibbons, Arturo Gonzalez, and Giovanni Cruzado arrived to assist. Hossain
was asked for his license, registration, and insurance. He was arrested and transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was charged with receiving stolen property. He was
released from custody.
