Secaucus Police Blotter 10/30/2023 to 11/05/2023

On 10/30/2023 at 3:24 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 21-year-old male, Ehasan Hoque of Jersey City, NJ for Tampering with Public Records [2C:28-7A(3)]. Mr. Hoque was issued his complaint summons along with 3 motor vehicle summonses and he was released from police custody.

On 11/03/2023 at 3:36 PM in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in relation to 10 incidents of vehicle break-ins of unlocked vehicles, reported to the police in various areas throughout the Secaucus jurisdiction, the police responded to Jersey City, NJ and took into custody a 16 year old male of Jersey City, NJ for 8 counts of Conspiracy to commit Burglary [2C:5-2A(1)], Conspiracy to commit Theft [2C:5-2A(1)], Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)] and Theft [2C:20-3A]. The Juvenile male was issued his Juvenile complaint summons and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On 11/04/2023 at 3:44 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 69-year-old male, Albert Rentas of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Sayerville, NJ in the amount of $750.00 along with 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. Mr. Rentas was issued 2 motor vehicle summonses. Officers from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters and took custody of Mr. Rentas for transport back to their agency.

On 11/04/2023 at 3:59 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. It was reported to the police that the individuals involved fled from the store in a motor vehicle. A motor vehicle stop of the involved vehicle was conducted and during the investigation, the police arrested a 34-year-old male, Felipe DazaAravena of Newark, NJ along with a 30-year-old male, Alejandro Mesias of Newark, NJ, a 30-year-old male, Camilo Retamales-Perez of Newark, NJ and a 32-year-old male, Cain Pino-Castillo of Newark, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(5)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Mr. Pino-Castillo was additionally issued 1 motor vehicle summons and Mr. DazaAravena was issued 2 motor vehicle summonses. Mr. DazaAravena along with Mr. Retamales-Perez, Mr. Mesias and Mr. Pino-Castillo were issued their complaint summonses and were released from police custody.

On 11/05/2023 at 4:06 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 38-year-old male, Leonel Romero Del Rosario of the Bronx, NY for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Woodbridge, NJ in the amount of $1,500.00 along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union, NJ in the amount of $89.00 with a 10% option. Union did release Mr. Rosario on his own recognizance pending a future court date. Mr. Rosario was issued 2 motor vehicle summonses and officers from the Woodbridge Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters and took custody of Mr. Rosario for transport back to their authority.

On 11/05/2023 at 4:07 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the rear of Sam’s Club located at 300 Park Plaza Drive on a report of theft of pallets. During the investigation, the police arrested a 27 year old male, Jonathan Perocier of Fort Lee, NJ along with a 25 year old male, Ishmael Morean of Hamilton, NJ for Theft [2C:20-3A] and Conspiracy to Commit Theft [2C:5-2A(1)]. Both Mr. Perocier along with Mr. Morean were issued their complaint summonses and were released from police custody.

On 11/05/2023 at 5:32 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the area of Paterson Plank Road and Harmon Meadow Boulevard on a report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway for an extended period of time. During the investigation, the police arrested a 32-year-old male, Christian Aviles-Mejia of Jersey City, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Aviles-Mejia was issued his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On 11/05/2023 at 6:09 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 22-year-old male, Juan Garcia of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Parsippany, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00 with a 10% option along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Clifton, NJ in the amount of $500.00. Clifton did release Mr. Garcia on his own recognizance pending a future court date. Mr. Garcia was able to post bail for the warrant issued out of Parsippany, NJ, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.
