Guttenberg Police Blotter - October 9th, 2023 to October 15th, 2023

1. On October 11th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 43-year-old Ruangpat Ochajaroen of Newark, NJ, after discovering that he had four active warrants, one for a criminal violation from the State of New York, two for criminal violations issued by the Jersey City Municipal Court, and one for traffic violations issued by the Pequannock Township Municipal Court. Mr. Ochajaroen was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. At police headquarters, Mr. Ochajaroen was charged with being a fugitive from justice [2A:160-10], related to the New York State criminal warrant. Once complete with his arrest processing, Mr. Ochajaroen was issued his complaint warrant and later lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.

2. On October 11th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested 52-year-old Juan A. Coca-Martin of West New York, NJ, and 49-year-old Ernesto Lara-Rojo of North Bergen, NJ, after discovering that Mr. Lara-Rojo was in possession of an automatic switchblade knife and that both Mr. Lara-Rojo and Mr. Coca-Martin were in possession of drug paraphernalia and a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. They were both transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for their arrest processing. At police headquarters, Mr. Coca-Martin was charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Mr. Lara-Rojo was charged with the unlawful possession of a weapon [2C:39-5D], the possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose [2C:39-4D], the possession of a controlled dangerous substance [2C:35-10A(1)], the possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance [2C:35-5A(1)], the possession of drug paraphernalia [2C:36-3], and failure to make lawful disposition [2C:35-10C]. Upon the completion of their arrest processing, Mr. Coca-Martin was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody. Mr. Lara-Rojo was issued his complaint warrant and later lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.

3. On October 15th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 27-year-old Johnson Gonzalez-Montoya of Morris Plains, NJ, after discovering that he had an active criminal warrant issued by the Hanover Municipal Court. Mr. Gonzalez-Montoya was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Gonzalez-Montoya was released on his own recognizance, pending his new court date with the Hanover Municipal Court.

The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
