Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

We have numerous flooding conditions because of today's rain. Public Works has five work crews on the streets keeping storm drains cleared. If there are any downed trees blocking roads or man hole covers that are dislodged tonight or this weekend, please call the Police Department non-emergency number at 201-568-5100. If there is an emergency, call 911.

If you plan on attending tonight's High School football game at Geissinger Field, I would recommend checking for any weather related time or schedule changes by visiting Twitter: @GoTigersTHS

Congratulations to the Boys Soccer team, they will be hosting a county game next Thursday night, October 5th at 7pm at Geissinger Field. Come out and support the undefeated Boys Soccer team.

The Chinese Parents Association of Tenafly is proud to present the Mid-Autumn Festival this Saturday September 30, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Tenafly Library. Please join us in a festive celebration of culture and traditions. A fun afternoon for all ages with Dragon and Lion Dances, Mooncake, martial arts demonstrations, and art and crafts. Everyone is invited to a family-fun filled day at our very first Oktoberfest event. The festivities are on Saturday, October 14th in downtown Tenafly. Please come out to enjoy festive food, live entertainment, family fun, children’s amusements, and local artisans and vendors.

Join film lovers around the world to view and vote for your favorite films in the Manhattan Short Film Festival, sponsored by the Tenafly Library Friends. The films will be shown at the library on Sunday, October 1, at 1:00 pm and Tuesday, October 3, at 1:00 pm. No registration is necessary.

Project Graduation 2024 is hosting a Pre-Holiday Boutique fundraiser on Sunday, October 15th at the Middle School Gym from 11 am to 4 pm. Clothing, beauty, jewelry, holiday gifts, and home products will be featured. For details contact: claudiabeth@aol.com

The Presbyterian Church will be hosting a Poet's Cafe Sunday, October 15th at 6pm led by local poet and Tenafly High School grad, Nora Grimm and her former teacher poet, Gary Whitehead. The Elks are sponsoring a Hoop Shoot free throw contest on Sunday, October 22nd at 2pm at the Mount Carmel gym for children ages 8 to 13. Please contact Mark Brownlee at 201-694-5022 for details on this fun event.

Registration is now open for the Nature Center's Annual Haunted Forest on Sunday, October 29th. Arrive early or come after dark and meet several live nocturnal species on a fun animal walk along the trails. Tours are designed to be entertaining and educational (not scary).
