Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Thank you to the Public Works Department for completing the installation of the new children’s spinner at the Froggy Park playground this week.

Are you interested in helping the environment by composting your food scraps? Details for joining the new Borough composting program are on the Tenafly website.

Next Friday, September 29th, Tenafly High School will kickoff their Centennial year observance by celebrating the 100th season of Tiger Football. Our team will be playing one of their longest standing opponents, Ridgefield Park. We welcome all fans and Tiger Football alumni to attend the game at Geissenger Field. Festivities begin at 6:30 pm with kickoff at 7 pm.

The Elks are hosting a community garage sale this weekend, September 23rd and 24th from 9 AM to 5 PM. For details please call 201-888-4120. All proceeds go towards children with special needs.

The Nature Center invites you to celebrate the changing season this weekend. On Saturday evening at the Fall Equinox Campfire & Night Hike learn about the seasons as you enjoy toasting marshmallows over a campfire. On Sunday all are welcome to experience making fresh apple cider. Register at TenaflyNC.org

Join film lovers around the world to view and vote for your favorite films in this year's Manhattan Short Film Festival, brought to you by the Tenafly Library Friends. The films will be shown at the library on Thursday, September 28 at 6:00 pm, Sunday, October 1, at 1:00 pm, and Tuesday, October 3, at 1:00 pm. No registration is necessary.

The Chinese Parents Association of Tenafly is proud to present the Mid-Autumn Festival on Saturday September 30, 1-4 pm at the Tenafly Library. Please join us in a festive celebration of culture and traditions. A fun afternoon for all ages with Dragon and Lion Dances, Mooncake, calligraphy demonstrations, and art and crafts. Everyone is invited to a family-fun filled day at our very first Octoberfest event. The festivities are on Saturday, October 14th in downtown Tenafly. Please come out to enjoy festive food, live entertainment, family fun, children’s amusements, and local artisans and vendors.
