Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
This coming Monday is September 11th. Please keep in your thoughts and prayers all those we lost 22 years ago.
This Saturday, September 9th is the Elks 61st annual Clambake from 2 pm to 7 pm at the lodge on Franklin Street. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. Children under ten eat free. Sunday, September 10th at 12 pm, Nature Center members are invited to explore the Fairy Trail and the new outdoor classroom space created by Girl Scout Kacey McNamara of Troop 12023 for her Gold Award. Visit and join her to hike our Red Trail. And, Apple Cider making season begins this Sunday at the Nature Center. Learn about cider making and experience ways of making fresh apple cider! Also this Sunday, at 1:00 pm, visit the Library Friends Room to hear Tenafly’s own Doctor Julie O'Connor discuss her book United States of Friendship reflecting on the tragic events of 9/11 through friendships that brought eight-year-olds together from hundreds of miles away.
The JCC is inviting everyone this Sunday, September 10th, from 11 am to 2 pm to their Fall Showcase. The JCC has curated a sensational journey that allows you to experience the very best from select departments and offerings this fall. Tenafly’s 9th Annual Community Night is Tuesday, September 12th from 5 pm to 8 pm. Join in for food, drinks, entertainment, amusement rides, a DJ, emergency service demonstrations and the 9/11 mobile museum. Community Night is free to all residents.

The Elks are hosting a community garage sale on September 23rd and 24th from 9 AM to 5 PM. For details on participating please call 201-888-4120. All proceeds go towards children with special needs.
This upcoming school year marks the 100th graduating class for Tenafly High School. It is also the 100th year for Tenafly Football, and they will be having their Centennial celebration on Friday, September 29th vs longtime opponent Ridgefield Park. More details to follow!
