Guttenberg Police Blotter - August 28th, 2023 to September 3rd, 2023

1. On August 28th, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested 43-year-old Jesus Martinez of West New York, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Martinez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Martinez was issued his summons and released from police custody.

2. On August 30th, 2023, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division located an unconscious female behind the wheel of an idling vehicle. After numerous attempts, officers were finally able to wake the female. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested 26-year-old Stefany M. Corella of Guttenberg, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Corella was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for processing. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, she was issued her summons and released from police custody.

3. On August 31st, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 25-year-old Bsam A. Elsayed of North Bergen, NJ, after discovering he had an active warrant from the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Mr. Elsayed was transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for processing, where he was able to post the full bail amount of $550.00. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Elsayed was issued his summons for motor vehicle violations and released on his own recognizance.

4. On September 1st, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 31-year-old Stephen Araoz of Union City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Araoz was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Araoz was issued his summons and released from police custody.

5. On September 2nd, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 21-year-old Joel A. Ortiz of Guttenberg, NJ, after discovering that he was in possession of a knife he claimed was to be used for self-defense purposes. Mr. Ortiz was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Ortiz was issued his complaint summons, his summons for a motor vehicle violation, and then released from police custody.

6. On September 3rd, 2023, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 42-year-old Jose M. Ramirez-Soriano of Guttenberg, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. RamirezSoriano was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Ramirez-Soriano was issued his summons and then released from police custody.

7. On September 3rd, 2023, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 68th Street and Park Avenue after it was reported that a male had sustained severe injury to his face after being assaulted. With the assistance of the victim and a witness, officers identified the suspect of the assault and subsequently located him walking on Park Avenue a short time later. Officers then arrested 39-year-old Carlos A. Diaz-Amaya of Hollis, NY, for aggravated assault [2C:12-1B]. Mr. Diaz-Amaya was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Diaz-Amaya was issued his complaint warrant and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.
