Union County Juvenile Charged with Shoplifting from Target

Fairfield (NJ) – The Fairfield Police Department responded to a shoplifting at Target on August 21, 2023. On that date at approximately 9:50 pm, a 17-year-old juvenile from Union County, NJ, was detained by Target security for shoplifting.

Officer Kevin Chen investigated, and it is alleged that Target security observed the juvenile remove items in the beauty aisle and place them in a bag. Upon checkout, the juvenile allegedly paid only for certain items and notwhat was placed in the bag. After attempting to exit the store, the juvenile was detained by security until police arrival. The total value shoplifted was $256.77.

The juvenile was transported back to police headquarters for processing and later released to a parent. Charges are currently pending.
