Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
The Elks are hosting their 7th annual Tiki Night this Saturday, August 19th from 5 pm to 9 pm. A $20 donation includes food, drinks and entertainment. Proceeds are used to benefit the Army of Hope supporting wounded and deceased American soldiers and their families.
This Saturday at 2 pm adults and families with children ages 6 and up who are Nature Center members are welcome to join an Environmental Educator to learn about fire safety. Discover the tips and tricks for your next campfire. Then, this Sunday at the Nature Center at 2 pm, adults and families with children ages 4 and up can join Environmental Educators to explore the Fairy Trail and build fairy houses of your very own. The Fall 2023 Recreation Programs, Sports and Events guide is available now on the Borough website under Parks & Recreation. Online registration is available to residents starting Monday, August 21st on Community Pass.
The next summer concert performance is Tuesday, August 22 at 7 pm in Huyler Park. Join us for a big band Sinatra tribute by the Van Martin Orchestra. Then, on Thursday, August 24 experience the Mel Nusbaum Jazz Quartet. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs.
There are a few spots left for the Senior Center trip to the Lancaster Sight and Sound Theater. Also be sure to check out all the upcoming trips that the Center has to offer. And, next Saturday, August 26 is the huge rummage sale at the Senior Center from 9 am to 4 pm. Mark your calendar!
The Presbyterian Church is hosting a Rainforest Adventure Camp for ages 4 years old to fifth grade, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM August 28, 29, and 30. Register online by August 21st at tenaflypresby.org.
Save the date for Tenafly’s 9th Annual Community Night on Tuesday, September 12th from 5 pm to 8 pm. Join us for food, drinks, entertainment, amusement rides, a DJ, local businesses, emergency service demonstrations and the 9/11 mobile museum. Community Night is free to all residents.
