The Town of Kearny is pleased to announce that it has received a $500,000.00 grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) to plant 300 new street trees and install 28 new rain gardens over the next three (3) years. Residents, homeowners and businesses may request a new shade tree be planted in front of their property by using the following link: https://arcg.is/vqqG80. Requests will be considered on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Locations will also be evaluated based upon the presence of underground utilities or overhead wires. Requestors are also asked to water and provide basic care for the tree during its first year.
