Mayor Issues Proclamation to Kearny Resident with 90th Birthday Honors

Kearny, NJ – Mayor Alberto Santos and the Kearny Town Council attended the 90th birthday celebration for John Patrick Dunrovich at the VFW Post 1302 on Belgrove Drive in Kearny on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Born on St. Patrick’s Day, Pat is a lifelong resident of Kearny who served as a Sergeant in the US Marines Corp. from 1952-1955 and fought in the Korean War. In 1955, he joined the Kearny VFW Post 1302 and is currently the longest and oldest living active service member. Pat has been responsible for cooking the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Corned Beef and Cabbage for over 50 years for the VFW Post for the town community to enjoy during the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The Town of Kearny extends sincere congratulations and best wishes to John Patrick Dunrovich. Mayor Santos noted, “It is not every day that a Kearny resident turns 90, and it is certainly a special occasion when the resident can celebrate the achievement of his 90th birthday milestone with a surprise party organized by his family, friends, and neighbors.”
