On January 13, 2023 at 11:42 AM, Millburn Police Officers Larcom and Reid located a stolen 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee on White Oak Ridge Road near Parsonage Hill Road. PO Larcom attempted to stop the vehicle but the vehicle eluded him. PO Larcom and Reid pursued the vehicle on White Oak Ridge Road where it crashed into a Tesla near Clive Hills Rd. The occupants of the Tesla were moderately injured. The three occupants from the Jeep bailed out and ran. PO Larcom engaged in a foot pursuit with a passenger and apprehended him, a juvenile, age 17, of East Orange. PO Reid engaged in a foot pursuit with the driver and apprehended him, Yester Santamaria, age 19, of Orange. The third occupant was apprehended by Summit Police, a juvenile, age 17 of Orange. Santamaria was charged with receiving stolen property, obstruction, aggravated assault and released on his own recognizance. The juveniles were charged with juvenile delinquency (receiving and obstruction) and released to family members.

On January 13, 2023, at 5:18 pm, Millburn Police Officer Salemi responded to Nordstrom at the Mall at Short Hills for a report of theft. Nordstrom associates reported that an employee, Deja Davis, age 30, of East Orange made a fraudulent return of merchandise to a gift card, value $435.00. Davis was arrested and charged with theft by deception. She was later released on her own recognizance.

On January 13, 2023, at 8:16 pm, Millburn Police Officer Palmer responded to a Ridgewood Road residence on a report of burglary to a vehicle. The resident reported that unknown actors entered her 2009 Hyundai while parked in the driveway. The actors damaged the dashboard of the vehicle and stole her purse. They were observed running from the scene and both described as tall and skinny with brown skin, one wearing a backpack. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 14, 2023, at 4:42 pm, Millburn Police Officers Griffin, Lyons, Jezewski and Salemi responded to The Mall at Short Hill on a report of a theft that occurred at Apple. Apple associates reported that a Hispanic male wearing a black sweatpants and a puffy vest stole $606.90 from Apple and left the store without paying. PO Lyons, Griffin and Salemi located a suspect matching the description in the parking lot and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The investigation led the arrest of Giorgi Mtchedlidze, age 41, of Brooklyn and the discovery of over $6000.00 in stolen Apple products in the vehicle. Mtchedlidze was charged with shoplifting, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and later released on his own recognizance.

On January 17, 2023 at 12:39 pm, Millburn Police Detective Royce and DeRosa located a stolen 2023 Mazda on Broad Street near Rte 124 westbound. They attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled onto Rte 24 east at a high rate of speed. They pursued the vehicle but had to terminate on Route 78 east due to safety concerns. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 19, 2023 at 09:48 am, Millburn Police Officer Kerwien and Detective Barbosa located a stolen 2012 Honda Civic on Jefferson Ave. The vehicle had previously fled from Livingston Police. They followed the vehicle onto Birch Lane where it became disabled. A rear passenger fled from the scene on foot, PO Kerwien engaged in a foot pursuit and apprehended him, a juvenile male, age 16, of Newark. Detective Barbosa apprehended the other three actors, a juvenile male, age 16, of Bayonne, and two juvenile females ages 15 and 16 of Jersey City, near the vehicle. The juvenile females were charged with juvenile delinquency (receiving stolen property) and released to family members. The males were charge with juvenile delinquency (receiving stolen property and resisting arrest) and remanded to Essex County Juvenile Detention.

On January 21, 2023 at 8:14 am, Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to a Fox Hill Lane residence on a report of theft of a vehicle. The resident reported that unknown actors stole their 2022 BMW X3 from their driveway. The key fob had been left in the vehicle. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 21, 2023 at 11:06 am, Millburn Police Officer Jezewski located the above vehicle on Essex Street. He attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled at a high rate of speed. PO Jezewski pursued the vehicle onto White Oak Ridge Road near Alexander Lane where the pursuit was terminated for safety concerns. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 22, 2023 at 0749 am Millburn Police Officer Shanahan located a stolen black Audi on White Oak Ridge Road. He attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled at a high rate of speed. PO Shanahan pursued the vehicle south on White Oak Ridge Road to Rte 24 E where the pursuit was terminated for safety concerns. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 23, 2023 at 9:00pm, Millburn Police Officer Frisch responded to an Edgewood Terr residence for a report of burglary to a vehicle. The resident reported that an unknown black male wearing grey sweatpants and sweatshirt attempted to enter his Audi Q7 while parked the driveway. The male then joined a second black male as he left the driveway. Officers Griffin and Manuyag located two males matching the description on Ridgewood Rd near Millburn Ave. The investigation revealed that the same actors attempted to enter other vehicles on Edgewood Terr and had stolen items from one of the vehicles in their possession. The juvenile males, age 17, of Newark were taken into custody and charged with juvenile delinquency (burglary and hindering). They were later released to the custody of their parents.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
