On March 1, 2023 at 6:14 pm, Millburn Police Officers Manuyag, Jezewski, Wichelns and Griffin located a stolen 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in a parking lot at the Mall at Short Hills. The investigation led to the arrests of Richard Bonner, age 29, Shaquanna John, age 25 and Autumn Massaquoi, age 22 all of Brooklyn, NY. Massaquoi was also identified as a suspect in a theft of perfume from Victoria’s Secret, total value $879.00. Massaquoi was charged with shoplifting and released to Woodbridge Police for an outstanding warrant. Bonner and John were charged with receiving stolen property and resisting arrest and later released on their own recognizance.

On March 2, 2023 at 05:12 am, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns located a disabled 2012 Volkswagen Jetta on Hobart Gap Road near Rte 124. The investigation led to the arrest of Jordan Sterling, age 21, of Plainfield for suspected DWI. Sterling was charged with DWI and related motor vehicle offenses and later released to an acquaintance.

On March 2, 2023, at 8:30 am, Millburn Police Officer Kerwien conducted a motor vehicle stop of a wanted vehicle on Route 24 east, near JFK Parkway. As he approached the vehicle, the driver sped off and eluded him. Detectives Royce and DeRosa conducted a follow up investigation, which led to the arrest of the driver, Brandon Mckinney, age 36, of Newark. Mckinney was charged with eluding police and later released to Secaucus Police for an outstanding warrant.

On March 3, 2023, at 4:14 am Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to Monterey Village Apartments on Millburn Ave for a report of theft of a vehicle. The owner reported that their 2019 Hyundia SUV was stolen after 1130 pm. The vehicle was recovered in Newark. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 3, 2023, at 12:50 pm, Millburn Police Officer Kerwien responded to the area of Hartshorn Drive and Cambridge Drive on a report of three black males attempting to enter parked cars. Upon arrival, Kerwien observed the males run down Western Drive. Officer Kerwien engaged in a foot pursuit as backup officers arrived to search the area. All three actors, juveniles, ages 16 and 17, of East Orange were located and taken into police custody. All three actors were charged with juvenile delinquency and release to family members.

On March 4, 2023, at 3:36 pm, Millburn Police Officer Dundon located a parked Toyota Corrola at the Mall at Short Hills that was wanted in connection with a shoplifting. The investigation led to the arrest of Daniel Martinez, age 46, of Paterson for multiple thefts. Martinez was arrested, charged with shoplifting and later released to Paterson Police on an outstanding warrant.

On March 4, 2023 at 8:49 pm, Millburn Police Officer Bifano responded to a Deer Path residence on a report of residential burglary. The investigation revealed that unknown actors entered the home and ransacked the bedrooms. The actors stole an undetermined amount of jewelry and cash. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 5, 2023 at 10:30 pm, Millburn Police Officer Recinos responded to a Canoe Brook Road residence on a report of residential burglary. The investigation revealed that unknown actors entered the home and ransacked the bedrooms. The actors stole an undetermined amount of jewelry and cash. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 7, 2023 at 10:42 pm, Millburn Police Officers Recinos and Nacim responded to a Rector St residence on a report of attempted burglary to a vehicle. Upon arrival, they observed the suspect who then fled on foot. Millburn officers conducted a search of the area and located the suspect. Abadoul Ouedraogo, age 18, of Newark, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted burglary, obstruction and resisting arrest. Ouedrago was later remanded to Essex County Correctional Facility.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
