Passaic Resident Arrested on Drug Charges

Fairfield (NJ) – The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Xavier Bernard (33), of Passaic, NJ on drug related charges. On July 12, 2023 at approximately 12:25 am, police headquarters received a call from a resident of Carroll Street reporting a suspicious vehicle that was parked and occupied on the street for an extended period of time. Corporal David Lagan and Officer Jayson Sickles were dispatched to the area and located the vehicle, which was occupied only by Bernard.

Further investigation revealed the alleged discovery of suspected cocaine and heroin as well as drug paraphernalia. Bernard was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. He was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several motor vehicle violations.

Bernard was later released pending an initial appearance at the Essex County Courthouse in Newark on September 26, 2023.
