Fairfield (NJ) – The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Hannah Linton (28), of Queens, NY, for shoplifting on July 17, 2023. On that date at approximately 7:24 pm, officers were dispatched to the Target store on a report of a shoplifter in custody.

Officer David DeCarlo investigated. It is alleged that Linton was observed by security at the self-checkout station with a shopping cart. It is further alleged that Linton scanned all the items in the cart with the exception of a car seat valued at $299.99, and then attempted to leave the store. Linton was stopped by security at that time and detained until police arrival.

Linton was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters for processing, and charged with shoplifting. Linton was later released pending an initial appearance at the Essex County Courthouse in Newark on October 3, 2023.

(Charges are merely allegations until the defendant is proven guilty or pleads guilty in a court of law).
