If you search the internet for lists of the most beautiful waterfalls in New Jersey, Hemlock Falls is in the top 10 on every one of them! What’s even better is that the hike to Hemlock Falls is easy and accessible. This will be a morning for anyone at any hiking level to come join us and enjoy one of New Jersey’s great wonders.
We’ll start our hike by the dog park where we’ll undoubtedly meet a few puppies and then continue on to Hemlock Falls, a 25-foot waterfall nestled in South Mountain Reservation in West Orange where the Hemlock Brook splits. After it spills over the 25-foot-high rock wall, it connects to the West Branch of the Rahway River which we’ll follow as it meanders further south to fill Campbell’s Pond. Once past the pond we’ll continue down the Grassy and Crest trails to complete our loop.
